My child is not a merit badge through out the course of my parenting. My child’s successes and failures are not all about reflecting my own status, accomplishment, and even self-worth. My child is a person, not a performance review. I have given birth to a human being who eventually need to stand on his own, complete with his own successes, and failures.

Watching my wife turn into a mother has made me fall in love with her all over again.

I thought I was a patient man and then I became a parent. My child has taken me forced me to learn a whole new level of patient.

After reading dozens of books and blogs on parenting, I've finally realized that the best teacher I'll ever have on the subject is my own child.

I cherish today, the nth day of my child's life, because tomorrow he'll be n+1 and never n again.
